Thank you for your continued patronage of yugen kyoto shijo.
Between late May 2026 and the end of May 2026, we have confirmed several new instances of suspicious messages (phishing scams) impersonating our hotel or hotel reservation services in connection with hotel reservations.
The main modus operandi involves sending messages after a reservation has been made, such as "Reservation not confirmed," "Reservation will be canceled if credit card information is not updated," or "You need to re-enter your card information for payment verification," then directing the user to an external website where they are asked to enter their credit card information.
However, at yugen kyoto shijo, we will never ask you to enter or re-register any of the following information after your reservation is confirmed.
• Credit card information • Password • SMS authentication information and other authentication information
If you receive a suspicious message, please do not access any links or attachments in the message body and delete it immediately.
Furthermore, if you have any concerns, please contact the hotel directly through their official website or the booking service you used.
We apologize for any worry and inconvenience this may cause our customers, and we kindly ask for your understanding and cooperation.
Thank you for choosing yugen kyoto shijo.
We have recently confirmed new cases of suspicious messages and phishing attempts impersonating our hotel and online reservation services, including reservations made through our official booking system and Jalan.net.
In some reported cases, guests received messages claiming that their reservation would be canceled unless they updated or re-entered their credit card information. These messages directed users to fraudulent external websites requesting credit card details and personal information.
Please be advised that yugen kyoto shijo and our reservation partners will never ask guests to re-enter or reconfirm credit card information, passwords, authentication codes, or personal information after a reservation has already been completed.
yugen kyoto shijo will never request the following information through email, reservation site messaging systems, social media, WhatsApp, or any other online communication methods:
• Credit card information
• Passwords
• SMS authentication or verification codes
If you receive any suspicious message, please do not click any links or open any attachments included in the message. We kindly ask that you delete the message immediately.
Please also carefully check the sender’s email address, URL, and account name. If you notice anything suspicious, please contact the hotel directly or contact the reservation service through its official channels.
We sincerely apologize for any concern or inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
